However, the traditional kit took up half the room and generated excessive noise, causing neighborly disturbances. Initially considering electronic drums, which also proved bulky and loud, August then embarked on developing Freedrum.

How It Works

The core operation of Freedrum revolves around sensors that track the position of the drumstick at specific moments, programmed to mimic movements during real drumming sessions. Additionally, sensors can be attached to the feet to simulate a broader range of sounds. Freedrum is compatible with all devices supporting MIDI, enabling usage with Windows, Android tablets, or smartphones. The battery life lasts an impressive 7 hours of continuous practice. A single pair of Freedrum modules costs $80, while a set of two pairs is priced at $170.
