emember the early television sets? They were massive boxes dominated by cathode ray tubes. Later, plasma panels took over, but now even they are becoming old news. In sci-fi movies, we often see images transmitted through thin film. That sci-fi has become reality.
OLED Televisions
orean company LG developed a television based on OLED technology. It is so thin and flexible that it can be rolled up like a tube. Despite this, the image quality is indistinguishable from traditional LED TVs, with a resolution of 1280 by 810 pixels and sizes reaching up to 60 inches.
The advantages of such a television are simply undeniable. You can hang it on any surface in any orientation, vertically or horizontally. If you're heading to the countryside, you can roll it up and toss it in a bag. This way, you'll never miss your favorite show or series again.
How It Works
LED technology is based on using carbon-based organic light-emitting diodes. These diodes can emit light when an electric current passes through them, and specific colors are achieved by covering the diodes with a phosphor. There are three phosphor colors: red, green, and blue, but their combination results in a vast color gamut.
Additionally, these monitors have minimal response times and a wide viewing angle.
Stages of Making an OLED TV
- Substrate selection.
- Preparing the substrate for diode application.
- Manufacturing the control board.
- Structural design and diode application.
- Sealing the TV to prevent moisture, dirt, and air ingress.
This is how fantasy becomes reality. And who knows what else the future holds.
