With people spending more than half of their day at work, it's essential for them to feel relaxed and stress-free in order to boost productivity.

Meet Thomas Mayer, a designer, carpenter, and freelancer from Germany who has developed an interactive ping pong table that not only entertains but also educates players. Such a table could be a hit among various firms looking to add a fun element to their employees’ leisure activities. Just a quick fifteen-minute ping pong session can uplift moods, reduce stress, and enhance gaming skills simultaneously.

This innovative ping pong table was Thomas's brainchild during his college years. Mayer single-handedly assembled a prototype table that serves as a ping pong coach. The table's surface, equipped with two Full HD projectors, transforms into a display that showcases essential performance metrics, statistics, and offers crucial tips to the player. The table operates in two modes: training and playing.

In addition, the table has the capability to display:

• Player performance statistics, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, and offering guidance on improved gameplay techniques.
• A leaderboard featuring the best game scores and individual player achievements.

Data gathering is facilitated through the players' rackets, each of which contains a near-field communication (NFC) wireless communication system. Gameplays are recorded using two cameras from Playstation.

Although the project currently exists in a single variant, it is possible that in the future, anyone interested could purchase this table as easily as they would acquire innovative household gadgets.
