ntroducing Tertill: The Revolutionary Garden Weeding Robot
American company Franklin Robotics, known for their popular Roomba vacuum robot, has ventured into a new realm to assist gardeners. Meet Tertill – a specialized robot designed to weed your garden effortlessly!
Inspired by Nature
The name "Tertill" is a play on the word "turtle," reflecting the robot's low-to-the-ground rounded design and movement. Resembling a compact box with a solar panel on top, Tertill operates on a simple principle: place it in your fenced garden bed, and let it take care of weeding while you attend to other tasks. A 5 cm barrier is sufficient to keep it contained.
Tertill navigates through your garden bed, identifying plants under 3 cm as weeds to be snipped by its built-in string trimmer. Plants exceeding 3 cm are recognized as valuable and left untouched. For young plants below 3 cm, setting up small barriers around them is recommended. Additionally, manually weeding the bed initially helps eliminate larger weeds that Tertill may mistake for crops.
All-Weather Performance
Tertill performs effectively in all weather conditions, ensuring rainy days won't hinder its weeding capabilities. Powered by solar energy, it operates efficiently for extended periods. Even in overcast weather, the robot switches to an economical mode, working slightly slower but maintaining its effectiveness.
