A captivating idea for a watercraft has been conceived in Paris. A new type of cruise ship will navigate along the Seine River powered by the energy generated from passengers' workouts.
How Will It Work?
The project is led by the globally recognized fitness equipment manufacturer, Technogym, in collaboration with the design studio Carlo Ratti Associati from Italy. According to the developers, energy produced during passengers' exercise on stationary bikes will be stored and utilized to propel the vessel. The ship's capacity will accommodate up to 45 individuals, with a length of up to 20 meters.
Currently, the project is in the development stage, and it is estimated to require at least 18 months for its completion.
Backup Plan
Of course, contingencies are in place in case there is insufficient passenger turnout for a voyage. Additional batteries will be activated and charged through alternative energy sources (such as solar power).
According to the developers, this type of ship could be a unique attraction for both tourists and fitness enthusiasts. Tourists can enjoy Parisian views in an unconventional way, while fitness enthusiasts can engage in their favorite exercises while gazing at the city through panoramic windows. Moreover, the ship will be highly eco-friendly, as only "clean" energy sources will be utilized.
Share this exciting concept with friends on social media and find out if they are ready to pedal their way through Paris!
