The island of Tau is situated in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern society. Home to 600 residents, this remote paradise relies entirely on diesel fuel shipments brought in by boats. To power the island's energy needs each year, over 400,000 liters of fuel are required – that's more than 1,000 liters per day. Recognizing the necessity to liberate Tau from energy dependence, Tesla and SolarCity have embarked on a mission to transition the island to sustainable energy sources.

Tesla is diving deep into home energy technologies, with a potential integration with the largest solar panel installer in the United States, SolarCity, driving this forward.
