Introducing a New Type of Footwear for Horses

Horseshoes, despite their apparent benefits, can cause many discomforts to horses. Their application involves hammering nails into the animal's hooves, which can be quite uncomfortable for them. Additionally, horseshoes are often lost and not very convenient for a horse to walk on rough terrain. Austrian animal advocates took on the challenge to solve this issue by developing MegasusHorserunners.

Creation

Specialists spent over 20 years developing a product that eliminates the need for metal hooves. Their research was regularly published in well-known specialized journals. According to the gathered data, experts concluded that iron horseshoes are morally outdated products. When worn, hooves experience significant strain, and the animal's ligaments and tendons become immobilized. It feels akin to being in a cast. Hence, a universal solution was created to allow horses to move freely on any surface while maintaining balance.

Practical Features of the Invention

MegasusHorserunners feature a patented attachment system that securely fastens the product to the hoof without the use of nails. Previously, similar developments existed, including methods to attach metal horseshoes painlessly using straps. Unlike such products, MegasusHorserunners also have a special sole that is highly flexible and evenly distributes weight on the hoof under the horse's weight. The device remains very stable and durable.

Funds are currently being raised on Kickstarter to produce MegasusHorserunners in various hoof sizes. €75,000 has already been funded out of the anticipated €100,000.
