Agora - the World's Largest Sauna

Visiting a sauna is often a communal activity. Both guests and residents of the town of Bodo, located in northern Norway, have the opportunity to visit a unique sauna that can accommodate a hundred people and is as awe-inspiring as the "Upside-down House" attraction. This unique structure emerged not as a business idea but as a distinctive exhibit at a festival of art, architecture, and music.

This sauna serves as an excellent example of how an effective unconventional approach can be utilized even in such a traditional practice as sauna construction.

The art project that led to the creation of the Agora sauna aims to draw attention to the preservation of life in the Arctic. This objective is reflected in the design of the structure— one of the walls is made of glass, allowing sauna-goers to admire the harsh beauty of the Arctic seascape while inside the steam room.

In addition to enjoying nature, visitors can indulge in musical and theatrical performances at Agora. The sauna also features a bar, so guests can warm themselves not only with the heat from the stoves but also with comforting beverages.

Interestingly, this sauna is a temporary structure—after several years of operation, there are plans to relocate it to other northern countries such as Ireland, Alaska, Scotland, Iceland, and more. Therefore, if this project proves successful, one could adopt the creators' experience with this sauna and use the business idea to establish a large-scale venture. It's entirely possible that in the future, such large saunas could become leisure destinations as popular as a restaurant or an anti-cafe.
