The Fascinating Journey of Apple Inc.
It all began in the garage of the Jobs family. Steve and Steve, Jobs and Wozniak, decided to create a computer that would have no competitors for many years. The first had the talent of a businessman, while the second was a genius. Thus, in 1976, their first joint product was born - Apple 1. It was sold for a significant sum in those days - $666.66, around $2800 in today's currency. This was a shock for the Steves and their friend, Ronald Wayne, who was helping them.
One year later, on January 3rd, Apple was officially founded. Wayne sold his share for $800, leaving the two Steves with their Apple computer. Multimillionaire Mike Markkula aided them with a sum of $250,000. That same year, Wozniak introduced Apple, a computer that no other could compete with.
Things didn't just go well; they soared. Within the first five years, their revenues doubled every four months. In 1984, Apple introduced the Macintosh, the first personal computer with no programming language. Initially successful, sales began to wane as the Macintosh was too pricey. And then it happened, the betrayal by Bill Gates.
Steve had long noticed that Gates, one of his employees, was frequently asking questions to Wozniak, who answered without suspecting anything. Jobs even had a falling out with Wozniak, demanding he stop answering Gates' questions. But it was too late: Gates left Apple for his company - Microsoft. Armed with all his competitor's secrets, Gates swiftly captured the tech market with his cheaper yet quality computers.
Years passed, Apple was stagnant. This continued until 1998 when Steve unveiled the world's first iMac. Apple was reborn. Three years later, Mac OS and iPod were introduced, followed by the iPhone in 2007, and Apple TV in 2010, culminating in the iPad.
Many wondered why the Apple logo had a missing bite. The answer is simple: Steve didn't want people to confuse the Apple with a tomato. Today, a common debate is the choice between Apple and Samsung (and sometimes Nokia, HTC, and others). Regardless of your preference, remember where Apple started and then make your decision.
