Log in to calculateHow Airports Profit in Europe and America
Airports make money from various avenues. For instance, in Melbourne Airport, just one parking spot in the airport vicinity can generate up to $500,000 annually. People driving to catch flights end up losing hundreds of dollars as their cars sit idle, waiting for their return. When calculated, a week-long absence translates to a substantial sum for the car owner, exceeding the cost of air tickets.

To combat this issue, two Australians devised a clever solution that could be relevant in many other countries. They propose that car owners rent out their vehicles while away and earn a decent profit - 25% plus avoiding airport parking fees. Their business, named Carhood, has gained immense popularity in their homeland over the past year and a half.
The Concept of Carhood System

1. The individual drives their car to the airport and hands it over to Carhood representatives.
2. During the owner's absence, the car is rented out to third parties and is insured against accidents and damage.

3. Upon the owner's return, the car undergoes a technical inspection. Any minor scratches are fixed free of charge, and the car is thoroughly cleaned at the car wash.
4. The owner retrieves their car in good condition and receives profits from renting it out.
5. For those unwilling to rent out their vehicle, Carhood provides parking near the airport at more affordable rates.

The benefits are evident, pleasing everyone involved: Carhood owners, car owners, and tourists who can rent a car at a reasonable price. The only ones who might not appreciate this project are airport management, as they stand to lose a significant portion of their annual income.
