or centuries, humanity has strived to simplify life by inventing machines and mechanisms to replace human labor. While many machines and vehicles have been created to replace humans, the past two to three decades have seen a true breakthrough – the emergence of robots that closely resemble us and are starting to replace us even in everyday life.
Walking Robots
The necessity of creating a mechanism resembling a human is in its ability to replace a "master" in any life situation. Until recently, all robots moved on wheels, but humans can climb stairs, walk on uneven or rough surfaces, and overcome obstacles. And for that, legs are needed. This problem has now been solved. The most advanced robots can now go shopping, clean carpets, take out the trash, and even walk with children.
The Most Famous Bipedal Robots
Robot REEM-B
n 2008, the company Pal Robotics in Barcelona, Spain developed this robot. It is not tall (just 1 meter 47 centimeters) and very slow (only 1.5 km/h). However, its advantage lies in its ability to carry up to 12 kg of cargo in each hand and recognize objects such as a water bottle, glass, dishes, etc. Its purpose is to assist lonely individuals who are unable to care for themselves.
Robot JUSTIN
his robot was developed in Germany. Initially, it moved on wheels, but in 2010, "lower limbs" were added. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that, thanks to the unusual shape of its arms and legs, it can perform almost any task and walk on any surface.
Robot CHARLI
his American robot has a human's height, and its mechanisms make its walking and actions elastic, just like those of a human.
Robot SURENA 2
This robot was developed in Iran. Initially, it wasn't taken seriously. However, it has managed to find its place due to its ability to sit, stand on one leg, and even dance.
