As the number of online stores increases, so does the demand for companies delivering goods and cargo. This is why there are branches of such companies in practically all regions and populated areas today. Delivery services essentially act as intermediaries between the seller and the buyer, charging only for the delivery service. Due to its low cost, postal services are the main competitor to goods delivery services. On the other hand, the advantages of delivery services include speed, reliability, product safety, and often the option for "doorstep delivery," where everything is brought to your specified location.

It is worth noting that despite existing competition (though not very high) in this sector, this type of business remains quite in demand and has good prospects. Moreover, many unique selling points can be implemented to differentiate your service from competitors. One such unique feature could be offering delivery during evening or nighttime hours.

Evening Delivery Service Luna

The folks from San Francisco who founded their startup called Luna took this approach. What sets their service apart from numerous others is the delivery of goods to the customer's home or specified location during evening and nighttime hours, specifically from 7 to 12 o'clock. You may wonder: What's so special about this? Aren't there other companies that work at such late hours? Surprisingly, there are not!

Have you ever had to take time off work or interrupt your daily tasks to pick up a package from a delivery service warehouse during the day? The author of this article has faced such situations repeatedly, as have many people around the world. Sometimes, there just isn't enough time to collect an order, and the item ends up being returned to the sellers unpaid. This situation results in substantial losses for American (and not only American) online stores. This is the nuance that the creators of Luna were able to identify and address. New business ideas often emerge based on something existing but spiced up with attention to nuances and details.

SoPost – Delivery Service

British online stores lose approximately one billion pounds sterling annually due to "non-pickup" of goods. However, this doesn't happen because someone plays pranks of ordering and not picking up. In reality, the reasons are often legitimate: the person is on a business trip, at a dentist appointment, traveling, or simply busy with other engagements.

This situation led enterprising Britons to create the service "SoPost." Your order is linked to your email address or social media account, ensuring your delivery address is always up to date. By using Google Maps, the team at SoPost can locate you at any given moment, deliver your order, and hand it over to you personally. There is no linkage to a "residential address."

American Service PickupZone

To tackle the issue of the absence of customers at the delivery location, PickupZone has come up with a unique solution. They have established a network of informal "delivery points" in various locations frequently visited by people. Consequently, the order is delivered to and stored at one of these locations, where the customer is a patron. Among these locations are gyms, beauty salons, dental clinics, tailors, laundromats, tennis clubs, and many other places commonly frequented by city dwellers.

This is how various and creatively different issues of order returns and customers' time constraints are resolved by innovative and useful delivery services created by entrepreneurial businessmen.

What else can be devised in the realm of goods delivery? Take a closer look and listen to the society's needs, and you will surely be able to carve out your unique niche, bringing in the desired respect and revenues. Best of luck!
