Millions of people dream of quitting their mundane office jobs and starting their own business. While thousands have the resolve to pursue their dreams, only a few achieve real success. Each success story in the world of entrepreneurship is worth examining closely.

An inspiring example of such a success story is the startup journey of "NY BookEditors," where the founder took a bold step by leaving her steady job to venture into her own business.

The Birth of "NY BookEditors" Business Idea

Natasha Lake, the founder of the startup, was 29 years old when she decided to leave her uninspiring office job and embark on creating her own business. The constant dissatisfaction with her financial situation in the expensive city of New York, where her salary as a managing editor fell short of providing a comfortable life, prompted her to take this leap.

In 2011, Natasha quit her job and began working on building her startup. Her partner supported her endeavors by covering shared expenses, thanks to his job as a trader. However, Natasha's first startup venture in children's entertainment industry lasted only five months. Alongside, she attempted to study technical sciences and find work, but none brought her satisfaction.

The turning point came in 2013 when financial difficulties spurred Natasha to realize that she should create a startup in her area of expertise. This led to the idea of providing editorial services to self-publishing writers.

Another crucial step was engaging in personal discussions with renowned editors, proposing collaboration with her platform. Despite initial apprehensions, most editors were eager to receive additional orders and expand their client base through this partnership. Editing services for books ranged from $700 to $1,000, enjoying high demand from independent authors.

Within about three months of the site’s launch, it started generating $8,000 in monthly revenue. Despite this success, Natasha continued investing all her earnings into further developing her business management skills.

Her perseverance and dedication led to "NY BookEditors" achieving a monthly revenue of $55,000 by 2015. The company boasts numerous clients, with 215 turning to the site after unsuccessful collaborations with other editors. This success allowed Natasha’s partner to quit his job and focus on their business project.
