In recent times, as our citizens have started paying special attention to a healthy lifestyle, various investigations on the naturalness and benefits of the food we consume have been consistently appearing in the media. This is excellent as it draws society's attention to a truly relevant issue concerning the health of ourselves and our children. However, mere knowledge in the field of healthy eating is not enough; it is important to have the ability to purchase organic products. And purchase them regularly, in sufficient quantities, and with a satisfactory range of options. Often, there is not a wide selection of completely natural products in grocery stores - the majority of goods can only be considered relatively natural.
A product can only be considered completely natural if it is not only produced (or grown) without GMOs, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers but also does not contain artificial flavorings, taste enhancers, colorings, and preservatives. When it comes to meat, it should be obtained without the use of growth promoters and antibiotics. Fortunately, there is an increasing number of small farms today that specialize in producing exclusively natural products. However, not every urban resident has the opportunity to regularly shop at such farms. This is precisely why the idea of opening a store that is conveniently located for city dwellers and acts as a mediator between these farms and the buyers seems very relevant. Let's now discuss its implementation.
Organizing the Business
What is needed to open a "natural store"? Firstly, of course, startup capital – around ten thousand dollars if the business is launched in a small town, and a significantly larger sum if the store will be located in a major metropolis.
These funds will be used (besides documentation) to purchase:
- Refrigerated chambers;
- Shelving;
- Refrigerated display cases;
- Counters;
- Cash register.
In addition, the cost breakdown should include rent for the space, electricity expenses, and salaries for the workers.
The next step in opening the store is to find those suppliers who will provide you exclusively with natural products (including pasta, confectionery, bakery products, meat, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, etc.). You can connect with them through the internet or by searching for them in markets and bazaars. Once the suppliers are chosen, it is important to examine the products they offer to ensure their quality.
Once the business is registered, the premises are set up, and suitable suppliers are found, it is time to start hiring salespeople. Pay attention not only to their professional skills and education but also to their ability to communicate with customers. Customers come in all types, and often good patience, the ability to remain calm, and tactfulness are required to retain the customer's desire to continue visiting the store.
As for advertising, if the store is located in a suitable area without nearby competitors (as there are still not many stores of this nature), there might not be a need for an extensive advertising campaign. A prominent sign, directional signs, and possibly online advertising will suffice. Wishing you success!
