Caramel is one of the most popular sweets, second only to chocolate. While various caramel candies can be found on store shelves today, there is still room for success in this business sphere. Not all products stand out with exceptional taste qualities. Meanwhile, many customers are looking to purchase caramel that is close to perfect in quality. The demand for such products has been and remains high.
To engage in the production and sale of caramel, one must conduct market research. This will help find a niche for offering self-produced goods. Entrepreneurs also need to have an understanding of the technology for making this product. To produce it, ingredients such as sugar, water, and invert syrup are necessary. These components are mixed and boiled until a homogeneous, stretchy mass is obtained. Afterward, the composition must be cooled in special molds. To make invert syrup, sugar needs to be split with acid, during which sucrose breaks down into glucose and fructose. One can venture into making lollipop candies or filled candies. It makes sense to choose jam, chocolate, marmalade, etc., as fillings.
The production of caramel should start with making invert syrup. To do this, one must find a special recipe. You can either seek advice from experienced confectioners or find information on the internet. The second stage of production involves mixing the aforementioned ingredients. Then, all the actions described earlier should be carried out. The final stage of production is the packaging of the finished products.
The most costly part of such a business is purchasing an automated production line. It should include elements such as cooking panels, tanks, dosing machines, rolling and stamping machines, cooling conveyor, mixers, packaging and filling mechanisms, and control panels.
Naturally, such equipment is quite expensive. However, acquiring it will significantly save on labor costs by hiring a minimal number of employees. To launch the business, one needs to rent a spacious premises with an area of at least 400 square meters. It is also important to arrange permits for the production and sale of food products in advance. The ready-to-sell caramel can be distributed to supermarkets, companies making gifts for children, and event organizing agencies.
