Every office worker probably knows what a shredder is. The main task of this device is to destroy unnecessary paper documents. Typically, shredders simply cut paper into thin strips. While the document is indeed destroyed, the waste remains. However, Chinese designers Chengzhu Ruan, Yuanyuan Liu, Xinwei Yuan, and Chao Chen have come up with a much more practical invention.
If your office constantly accumulates a lot of waste paper and you often find yourself using pencils, then the P&P Office Waste Paper Processor shredder is exactly what you need! With just the press of a button, this gadget will "eat up" the used paper and spit out a brand new pencil. In this way, the office "kills two birds with one stone": getting rid of paper waste and saving on purchasing pencils.
How It Works
The primary task of this conceptual invention is to reduce paper consumption at home and in the office. Operating on the same energy supply as a regular shredder, this device significantly optimizes paper usage.
The instructions for this unique shredder state that the inserted sheet of paper is tightly wrapped around the pencil core of the future pencil with a small amount of glue to prevent the paper from unrolling. Subsequently, the new pencil pops out from a special orifice. The shredder also offers the option to sharpen the produced pencils.
Developers do not elaborate further on the shredder's operational concept, but it is quite likely that such shredders will soon appear on the shelves of office supply stores.
The designers behind this concept have already received some awards for it. While this shredder model shows great promise, it is not yet in the production stage. If the shredder indeed performs as claimed in the instructions, it will likely become quite popular in schools and offices that still use pencils.
Given the existence of paper-based pencil offerings in the market, this idea seems feasible. However, don't forget that in order to yield a pencil as output, the device needs to be stocked with pencil cores and glue.
