Water is a precious resource that is not abundantly available in all corners of the world. For enthusiasts of outdoor adventures, carrying extra weight in the form of water and planning routes in advance to visit places where they can replenish their supplies is a common necessity. Christopher Reteszar, an Austrian inventor, has recently come up with a solution to the issue of finding a water source. This industrial genius has created a bottle that literally produces water from the air.
The Essence of the Idea
The Fontus bottle consists of a lid where air is cooled, condensed, and filtered, before being directed into the vessel. The lid's design includes:
- a small filter;
- condensation chambers;
- coolers.
Two types of these bottles have been developed. One operates using solar energy, making it ideal for hikers, while the other type requires no additional energy source as it harnesses the power of airflow, making it perfect for cyclists. The bottles come with special capsules that enrich the water with minerals and have attachments for easy mounting on a bike frame.
The bottles have a capacity of up to 800 ml, and the filling speed depends directly on the humidity and temperature levels. Higher levels result in faster condensation, with the filling rate reaching up to 200g per hour in high humidity conditions.
Not only outdoor enthusiasts and athletes will benefit from this invention, but it could also be valuable for residents of regions lacking natural sources of clean drinking water. This bottle not only ensures access to drinking water but also saves the owner money by eliminating the need for constant water purchases.
