Private preschools are becoming increasingly popular every year. It is quite understandable, as parents often struggle to enroll their children in public institutions, where the registration process becomes more complex each year. Therefore, many prefer private facilities. When it comes to their child, parents do not consider the cost of services and try not to cut corners. The proximity to home and the quality of service are the main factors when choosing a preschool.

Entrepreneurs have responded massively to the growing demand, opening hundreds of preschools in recent years. To put it into perspective, there is currently one private preschool for every 45 public institutions. Of course, this is very little. However, this "sharp" imbalance may shift towards private structures in the near future. This is due to the constant decrease in the number of public preschools closing due to under-enrollment or insufficient funding.

As for private institutions, they continue to open. Today, there are over a thousand of them in the United States. What drives the popularity of this business? Firstly, the birth rate in the country is increasing – a fact. Secondly, the shortage of preschools is becoming more evident. The third factor is the lack of sufficient competition (there are still relatively few private preschools). And most importantly, people strive to improve their quality of life, starting with their children's welfare.

Services Provided in Private Preschools:

  • Educational programs. Children receive a full education including foreign languages, mathematics, computer science, and more. By the time they reach school age, children from private preschools are well-prepared and often ahead of their peers;
  • Aesthetic development. Children are introduced to the arts in private preschools. They engage in music, painting, singing, and more. It is easier to identify a child's talent at an early stage in such establishments;
  • Individualized activities. In private preschools, children can choose activities they enjoy like artistic gymnastics, chess, ballroom dancing, and many other options;
  • Wellness procedures. Children thrive physically with massages, aromatherapy, phytotherapy, oxygen cocktails, and more.

Advantages of a Private Preschool:

  • Easy enrollment. Parents do not have to endure long queues in public preschools hoping their child gets a spot. It is common to hear of parents finally getting a spot, only to find out there is a group of children who are more "deserving." This will never happen in a private preschool;
  • Enhanced comfort and safety. Private preschools prioritize creating the most comfortable environment for children. Additionally, parents can trust in the safety measures in place, with private security ensuring order and restricting access to unauthorized individuals;
  • Small group sizes. With smaller groups, children receive more attention from caregivers. This allows for individualized attention to address any existing gaps in development and knowledge;
  • Highly qualified staff. Private preschools only hire experienced professionals with excellent recommendations. There is no compromise on staff quality, as it directly impacts the institution's reputation and overall business profitability;
  • Advanced educational methodologies. Private preschools sometimes employ unconventional teaching approaches that prove to be more effective than traditional methods approved by the education department;
  • Adequate learning materials and toys. These establishments always have enough resources as owners prioritize the reputation and popularity of the preschool. Providing everything children need is essential for maintaining a positive image;
  • Quality nutrition. Parents do not have to worry about their child going hungry or lacking essential nutrients in a private preschool. The balanced and nutritious meals are carefully planned in consultation with medical experts and nutritionists;
  • Flexible schedules. This factor is crucial for parents, as they can drop off and pick up their children at more convenient times.

Disadvantages of a Private Preschool:

  • Limited availability. Finding such establishments in small towns is extremely challenging, so not all parents have the opportunity to enroll their child in a high-quality paid institution;
  • High cost. It is logical that the cost of private preschool services will be relatively high. On average, parents can expect to pay between $500 to $1500 per month. Hence, only parents with good income can afford this "luxury."

Therefore, modern private preschools have unique features that set them apart from public structures. They come with their own pros and cons, leaving parents with the task of making an informed choice.
