ploring the Fascinating World of Indoor Rain Rooms
Two years ago, the British team of developers known as Random International unveiled their innovative project Rain Room. This captivating experience, also referred to as "The Room of Rain," made its debut in Shanghai to overwhelming success. It comes as no surprise that many entrepreneurs in the United States immediately saw the potential and started creating their versions of this mesmerizing installation.
nitially, Rain Room was a 100 sq. ft. room where a constant downpour of rain fell from the ceiling. Despite the abundance of water, anyone entering the room remained completely dry! This fantastic feat is achieved through special sensors placed around the room. These sensors track the movements of individuals and deactivate the water above the person, ensuring visitors stay dry while surrounded by the simulated storm.
he concept quickly caught the attention of a local shopping center, and within months, replicas of Rain Room could be found across the United States. Furthermore, a burgeoning rental business for such rooms has emerged in the country. For example, one company, the Shanghai Binghuan Cultural Communication Company, offers a variety of "rainy" spaces with different features in their portfolio.
Naturally, this imitation drew the attention of the original creators of Rain Room in the United States. The issue of copyright remains unresolved, although the American developers assure everyone of the unique aspects of their creations. However, Random International is hesitant to pursue legal action against the alleged imitators. What concerns the developers the most is the health implications for individuals. Improperly constructed rooms with high humidity levels can become breeding grounds for dangerous fungi and bacteria. This is why they caution against visiting questionable American Rain Rooms.
