The Korean designer created an oxygen respirator that operates similarly to fish gills.

Device Construction

The "Triton" consists of several compact elements that interact with each other. The main components include:

• Side wings that mimic gill effects;
• Chambers to separate oxygen from liquid.

The scaly structure of the side wings emulates gills and conceals water inlet holes. Upon entering the respirator, particle separation occurs. Purified oxygen flows through the mouthpiece into the diver’s body, allowing them to breathe while swimming underwater.

Currently, the device has few equivalents, offering numerous advantages. It can be likened to a multifunctional backpack that saves time and space.

Advantages and Features of the Respirator

The primary benefit of this device is its compact size. Additionally, noteworthy aspects include:

1. Time savings - No need to refill oxygen tanks before diving.
2. Dive duration - A modern microprocessor in the device runs on next-gen batteries, allowing up to 45 minutes underwater.

However, "Triton" represents a new type of gear and has its limitations. The maximum diving depth currently reaches no more than 5 meters. Moreover, the cost of the respirator reaches $400.
