Scientists never cease to amaze us: they are constantly working on creating and bringing to life the latest and incredibly effective technologies that significantly simplify our lives, making them brighter and more interesting. If just twenty years ago the existence of smartphones with touch screens seemed like science fiction to us, now the whole world uses these devices and many other inventions. Today, we will introduce you to three out of six unusual technical innovations that could become a reality in just a few decades, or even sooner, thanks to the continuous development and progress of humanity.
Android Robot
Scientists have been working on creating a robot for decades that will be practically indistinguishable from a real human both in appearance and in intelligence, capable of experiencing various emotions. In such developments, there are several directions: some scientists are working on creating human-like robots with electronic skin and mechanical joints that closely mimic humans and could even be used in medicine. Another group of developers is working on a more functional aspect — creating androids with artificial intelligence and the ability to think and analyze situations similarly to humans. Nevertheless, any progress in the field of robotics is a valuable and essential step in the development of science, technology, and all of humanity in general.
Laser Weapons
Implementing this technology now seems less futuristic, as Chinese developers claim they have already created a prototype of an effective laser weapon and will soon put it into production for military use. Despite this, the actual power of laser weapons is still far from what is portrayed in Hollywood action movies, where laser beams can destroy everything in their path. Currently, this weapon is planned to be used for shooting down unmanned aerial vehicles. The distance between the laser installation and the target should not exceed two kilometers, and the speed of the drone should not exceed 180 kilometers per hour.
However, the size of the aircraft is insignificant — it can be less than one meter in length. Nevertheless, at this stage, it is just a prototype of real weapons, and according to experts, it will take about ten years for this technology to be fully realized.
Iron Man Suit and Exoskeleton
Thanks to his incredible strength and invincibility, the hero of American comics, and later of vibrant Hollywood films, Iron Man, has become a idol for a huge number of teenagers and adults worldwide. Many boys have dreamt of owning a similar miraculous suit as his since childhood, and now this dream has a chance to come true in real life. For several years now, several of the most prominent American companies have been developing an exoskeleton for the U.S. Army.
It must possess several important features — firstly, the suit should have armor that can protect the soldier from bullets and shrapnel; secondly, the system will allow a person to withstand heavy loads (carrying more than 50 kg) while being able to move quickly and easily. Unfortunately, this project is still in the development and experimentation stage, but scientists promise to recreate the superhero suit in the near future. You can read about four more unusual inventions of the future in our next article.
