Heading out for a shopping spree at a mall can be quite the ordeal for any couple. Endless trying on clothes and visits to numerous stores can greatly annoy the man, while constant "whining" and dissatisfaction from the stronger sex can hinder the woman from focusing on picking out new clothes. Such problems could even lead to extreme situations. For instance, recently a 38-year-old Chinese man took his own life by jumping off the roof of a shopping center due to a shopping trip that went on for too long with his girlfriend.
To avoid such incidents and make the shopping process comfortable for everyone, a special relaxation room for men was opened in one of the shopping complexes in Shanghai, China.
About the Project
The 'Husband Nursery' is located in a secluded corner of a large shopping center owned by the real estate corporation, Vanke Group. Inside the room, there are comfortable, plush armchairs with massage functions and a huge television. Before starting their shopping, women can simply leave their husbands there and go shopping.
Meanwhile, men can watch TV, read a newspaper or magazine, or simply browse their phones while sitting in a comfortable chair. This significantly reduces the stress of shopping at the mall for both members of the couple and, consequently, increases the mall's revenue, as the woman can freely spend money without being distracted by her husband's complaints.
It's worth noting that the Husband Nursery concept is not new. A similar relaxation room has been operational since 2011 in the Australian branch of IKEA. There, the 'man creche' is additionally equipped with consoles, board games, and other activities to allow men to relax and socialize while their partners are busy shopping.
Don't forget to share this information with friends on social media; perhaps someone has long dreamed of such relief from "tedious" shopping excursions.
