Ecological preservation of our planet and independence from energy resources are priority areas of scientific and technical activity for humans. Thousands of tons of various toxic substances enter the air daily, disrupting the natural balance. Each year, advancements made by scientists help reduce environmental pollution, primarily through the use of eco-friendly means of transportation. Alongside traditional electric cars, electric trikes are gaining increasing popularity as a modern variant of an electric three-wheeled bike.
Battery Capacity
Electric trikes exemplify how energy-independent technology serves as a convenient and functional means of transportation. Thanks to modern technologies, trikes can travel significant distances—ranging from 100 to 600 kilometers without additional charging, depending on the type of battery used. The battery dimensions are compact, and the motors, produced in China, offer the best combination of high quality and reasonable cost.
Maximum Speed and Body Features
The frame of the body is constructed using lightweight, durable, and high-quality metals, such as aluminum used in aviation or shipbuilding. This design gives the trike a low mass while ensuring durability, reliability, and maneuverability, especially during travels. The frame's construction enables the trike to achieve significant speeds: up to 80 km/h on flat roads and up to 55 km/h in off-road conditions, without compromising the body or wheels. This strength is achieved through independent suspension, which absorbs all vibrations and loads from the wheels, ensuring maximum maneuverability under any road conditions.
Main Advantages of Trikes
Electric trikes are a highly beneficial invention that seamlessly integrates into urban traffic and is ideal for tourism, maintaining environmental cleanliness. The mass production and popularization of such transportation will significantly reduce air pollution levels in modern metropolises. Therefore, electric trikes offer numerous positive aspects:
- Environmental friendliness and modernity;
- Structural strength and reliability;
- Lightweight nature of this type of vehicle;
- Trikes can easily navigate both smooth roads and rugged terrains;
- Impressive speed capabilities;
- Long operation without the need for extra recharging;
- Futuristic design;
- Driver safety;
- Considerable carrying capacity.
Drawbacks and Solutions
Despite these advantages, there are some drawbacks: the high cost and limited availability of trikes, making this type of vehicle unattainable for everyone. The current price of an electric trike is around $5000. The expensiveness is due to the use of innovative, high-quality components that are not yet widely available, sourced from various countries worldwide.
Additionally, the high cost of the metal used for the frame manufacturing should be noted. Hence, acquiring a trike is currently feasible for relatively affluent individuals. However, if electric trikes gain popularity as quickly as they are today, it might lead to mass production, ultimately lowering the price.
