Plastic Bottles Pouring Out Every Last Drop
American researchers from a university in Ohio have developed a groundbreaking material that allows pouring out every last drop of liquids of various densities from a bottle. This innovative material is strategically placed on the inside of the container to reduce costs. Earlier versions were tailored for food products but faced challenges when it came to cleaning the material with standard detergents.
Cleaning Up the Ocean: A Project to Purify Water from Trash
Annual pollution of global water bodies could soon become a major environmental issue. Scientists are working tirelessly to devise water purification methods, with a key focus on collecting PVC and PET waste. This mainly includes plastic bottles that float on the surface. Currently, it is estimated that there are around 5 billion tons of PET garbage in the oceans. Bojan Slat proposed a solution to this problem using extensive water barriers.
Plastic Recycling: A Sustainable Solution
In early 2016, designer Dave Hakkens from Eindhoven, along with entrepreneurs in the plastic recycling industry in the Maldives, developed equipment for recycling plastic waste. Plastic plays a crucial role in modern daily life but poses significant harm to the environment.
