Entrepreneurial Insights: Innovative Shade Solutions in Urban Spaces
Many aspiring entrepreneurs ponder over the question: what ideas are most likely to attract investors? In reality, funding can be secured for a wide range of concepts as long as the pitch is compelling and the idea is not only interesting but also relevant. For instance, selling sunglasses might not be a hit in a place where it rains six out of seven days, but umbrellas would surely fly off the shelves. Conversely, in hot climates, people are willing to pay for shade.
American Architect's Shade Innovation
Meet Nina Gonzalez Vives, an architect from Spain, who devised a brilliant solution to combat heat in megacities without compromising the cityscape. His idea is both simple and ingenious: spherical plastic structures resembling clouds that provide shade, even on the hottest days, without obstructing the city view.
Cloud Observatory: Artificial Shade Solution
The Cloud Observatory structures are now available for purchase, soon to be dotting the skies of Spain. These clouds not only shield from direct sunlight but also prevent the formation of stifling heat pockets below, offering a pleasant shade akin to that of trees.
The artificial clouds utilize the process of evaporation to create a refreshing ambiance by:
- casting shade;
- trapping water vapor within the cloud, which eventually returns to a liquid state.
Urban Applications and Aesthetic Appeal
In cities lacking natural tree cover, such clouds will prove indispensable. However, it's not just individuals who may be interested in acquiring these innovative shade solutions; office and retail space owners will also find them appealing. After all, artificial clouds are more aesthetically pleasing compared to traditional air conditioning units that mar the façade of buildings.
